The D45 is identical in features and capabilities to the current model D40 IP telephone, but is also capable of gigabit connectivity to its LAN port and gigabit pass-through to its PC port. Digium phones are the only phones tightly integrated with Asterisk, and Asterisk-based phone systems like Switchvox. No other phones on the market offer the advanced Digium feature set.

D45 phones are available only with Icon keys; English-text keys are not available for model D45 phones. The D45 is identical in appearance to the model D40 Icon-key phones except for the model number on the label. Model D45 phones are compatible with Switchvox 5.8.2 and use a 1.4.1 version of firmware.
